Maverick (non-conformist), pure energy… Gran Luna is the result of the wish to go further in its composition. Our winegrowers experience reinforced by the great biodiversity and technical complexity of our plots in Dehesa de Luna, give us these extraordinary results.
The new vintage of one of our more prestigious and awarded wine is available. A little jewel born in the hearth of Dehesa de Luna. Beyond the aroma, this wine is a philosophy of its own: "No matter how hard the situation is, tere are always joys to celebrate".
A certain processing protocol is applied to each variety. This is done to obtain the best from each of them and achieve wines with different qualities that enable us to build, later during blending, a complex mixture which is rich in undertones. Where they help and complement each other to create our Gran Luna. Consequently, parameters such as the fermentation temperature, the intensity and duration of the maceration of the skins or the management of the malolactic fermentation, vary from one batch to another according to what each variety offers us and what we want from them.

Wine Making:
The grapes were picked in 10kg crates with a manual sorting of bunches and berries in the vineyard. All the grapes were stored during 24 hours at 4ºC in a refrigerating chamber followed by a second manual selection at the winery on a sorting table. The fermentation and maceration lasted between 14 and 17 days depending on the enological objectives fixed for each varietal. Themalolactic fermentation was done in new French oak barrels of 225 litres, with an ageing of 15-18 months in the same barrels.

A must with Manchego gazpacho or our traditional morteruelo. Try it with Iberian pork hamburgers.
Tasting notes:
This wine has a deep ruby red colour. Intense ripen black fruit aromas with notes of species (pepper) and a hint of scrub herbs. Full, silky and fresh in the mouth, that together with the fruity expression makes a balanced and extremely complex wine. Very long finish.
